AMPP Testing
Fieldwork Photos

In the fall of 2003, initial sampling was completed with the cooperation of several landowners and irrigators in the Tongue River drainage area of southeastern Montana.

Here you will find a collection of photos taken during that sampling process.

Three types of sampling were done at each field for the Tier II level effort. A backhoe pit was excavated, as shown on left, and a soil test pit was described. The infiltration rate of the soil was measured, shown center. And composite soil samples to a depth of 96 inches were collected using a Gidding’s Probe, shown right.
